About the Author
Eric Ericson retired from Gulf Oil in 1981, began his own consulting business in Boulder, Colorado, and continues his keen interest in the oil and gas industry. I bought the book because I worked with the author when he was in Nigeria and i also knew many of the people that were mentioned in Bolivia and Spain. The book's viewpoint, from both the working husband and the wife, is interesting. As I spent 21 years working in various countries in South America and Africa, I found their description of life the countries good for the 60s, but badly out of date now. The book is definitely not good as a guide for someone heading for those countries. Nigeria is no longer a comfortable place for an expat to live. Bolivia, although much changed, is still probably ok. Spain is probably much as it was then, although more modern.
