Mark Jasper is the author of many books in the Good Night Our World series, The Cape Cod Christmas Cookbook, Haunted Cape Cod and the Islands, and Haunted Inns of New England. He lives in Sandwich, MA.Illustrator Cooper Kelly grew up in Connecticut and New York City and currently lives in Paris, France. He works in a variety of styles and has illustrated for a wide range of clients in adult and children’s publishing. I love this book! It is a little redundant in the use of some terms (primarily the use of "greetings" as a greeting to the sea animals) but I absolutely love that it doesn't 'baby talk' or dumb things down. It's refreshing. I enjoy reading it to my son. We stop and I explain about the animals while we read. It's definitely more of an intellectual kids book. Great for active and curious minds!
love this book. we read in on vacation in mexico every night and now when we read it, it reminds us of mexico. illustrations are great and beautiful. 4 starts because the rhythm isn't PERFECT, like say, goodnight moon, but i mean, who can top goodnight moon?
Good book with basic sea life plus a little more. Includes dolphins, whales, otters, sea lions, octopus, jelly fish and even a Coast Guard ship. Repeated vocabulary good for retention. Not our favorite Good Night book but my 3 year likes it. Good follow up after family trip to ocean and aquarium.
Great children's book. Sparked a child's imagination about the world of animals in the ocean
