This is a must read! Paul Harvey is before my time, but the way this book is written it is timeless. There are amazing stories in this book that are true. This book is a collection of true stories that is well written and entertaining. My husband and I would read a story each night; look it up on the internet and find out that what he wrote was true. There are stories about how the dictionary came about; how a famous author almost got away with the perfect murder and so many more. We not only bought this for ourselves, but bought a copy for some friends as well as my parents. I wish he wrote more books like this!
I love Paul Harvey and i used to listen to his "And now the rest of the story" stories on the radio going to work. Always fun and interesting.
Paul Harvey is the kind of man you think of when you consider our nation's most influential people over the last 100 years. I enjoyed his book because I could imagine his voice when I read his stories. It's great when you can read all of these short stories that are often two pages or so long, and quickly get to the plot. I found myself getting more and more anxious as I approached the end to find out who Mr. Harvey was writing about. In my opinion he's the greatest story teller of all time.

I have grown up listening to Paul Harvey, all the way back to the summer of 1972. I worked on a Sod Farm, and my boss, Rusty told all of us workers to "Shut up while Paul Harvey is on" (while we ate our lunch).He was on 560 KLZ radio then. He moved over to 850 KOA in the late 70'sand remained there until he died this February, 2009.When you listen to someone EVERYDAY for 37 years, you feel as if you know them like a friend.After receiving this book from my son (for my 58th birthday present),I am now sure that I will purchase the other Paul Harvey books.
I use this book to increase student engagment in the classroom. Textbooks usually leave out all of the interesting details or interesting stories all together. Although I use only some of the book, what I do use adds so much to the lesson and makes what they are learning just a tad more exciting. Good job Paul!
One of the most interesting collections of short stories I've ever seen.
I bought a used version and it does look old but it is Paul Harvey and that was what we wanted. He was great. Perfect bathroom reading!
