Just received and forgot how great a reference this was. Have been a PA for 15 years. Spent most of career in orthopedic surgery and now in urgent care. Great films and thorough classification with concise treatment and indications for surgery. Must have when seeing any type of ortho.
As a medical student applying for orthopedics, this book is amazing! Content would get 5 stars. The reason I took -4 stars was because my book was not cut appropriately. Every other page is attached at the top. I had to spend an hour with a razor blade just to separate the pages.
Great information regarding recognition, classification, and treatment of fractures. Points off for absence of casting and splitting techniques for fractures, the addition of which would make this ideal for neophytes working through their ortho modules. For experienced providers, though, this is not a big deal and doesn't detract from the value of the text.
Must have for any orthopaedic student or resident. Basic introduction, much like orthobullets. Comes with online access that comes in handy.
Everyone knows this book is a must have for any sub-i, intern, and resident. must for every on call room. well organized. Comes with a kindle access, which you can also acces on the kindle app if you have another tablet device. fits in the white coat pocket. haven't really figured what's updated from the previous edition, but I haven't gome through it all the way though.
The content of this book is great. Binding of the book was done wrongly such that some page numbers are located at the wrong pages. For instance; from page 242, the next page is 519. Index starts at page 761 and ends in 798. The book then continues from 243, and ends with page 518. I would have given 5 stars if not for such errors.
Very concise, and very useful as a new PA to Orthopedics. Would be good for a primary care specialist as well.
This is not for the casual o.r. staff. Its for orthopedic med students in my opinion.
