Non of the "Belle Starr Single-Handedly Defeats Federal Regiment" nonsense that typified the tabloid journalism of the late 1800s. Includes several letters purported to have been written by Starr herself (and transcribed by the author from the originals). It's a short work, but a valuable source for anyone interested in the diversity that typified the real Old West (as opposed to the all-white frontier depicted in films and TV shows of the 1950s and 1960s).
