I actually got this book for a class that I am taking. I bought it new thinking that I would be writing and highlight in it like a overachiever that I am, but interestingly enough that wasn't the case. The book was great if you knew how the medical system in the U.S. works but I could see people outside of their element with this book. Managed Care is a hard theory to get your head wrapped around if you have never worked in the healthcare field and don't understand what goes on "behind the scenes" for that doctor or that Physician Assistant does to actually see you in a hospital or doctor's office. It's a fairly think book for the major concepts introduced and some of the descriptions and definitions were a bit hard to understand due to their vagueness. I do refer back to it mostly for class but it's a good book.

The book came form a third party seller and it arrived in plastic, like new, like advertised.The topics were easy to understand. The text was not complicated.This book was a requirement for my course but I would recommend it to anyone interested in supplemental resources for reports etc. Includes information about the history of managed care along with recent healthcare information pertaining to the Affordable Care Act.

great book ,good information to obtain more info in the topic, but still needs other books to complement it..the wording is a little confusing and goes around the bushes without giving you a clear definition of thre topic at hand...but in general ...a ok book with good information on different topics related to managed care.

I purchased this textbook because it was required for my economic (Masters) class. This is book is relatively easy to read and understand. It is a good reference book and one that I shall keep for the future. If you are interested in economics or an economic major, this is a good resource, provided you work in healthcare.

Granted it was used, and you kind of get what you pay for. But overall the already highlighted text gave me a headstart on what I should focus on for class, so I guess I should say thanks a lot!

An honest book that does what it sets out to do-give an overview of the subject. Although texts such as this suffer from the ravages of time on relevance it is still preferable to the inefficiency of trying to educate yourself about these subjects on the internet.
