The book makes you think about human and computer intelligence, and the difference between them. No knowledge of programming or math is necessary to understand the book. You can enjoy the book without having played or even knowing the games mentioned in the text, but I think you will like the book more if you have played some of those games.
This book is a must-have for those interested in AI for games and/or games for AI. Especially appealing to innovative people who share a passion for games. Be aware that some degree of knowledge (or intelligence?) will be needed to be able to grasp some things mentioned in this book.However, Julian, the author of the book, is able to describe complex concepts in a simple and entertaining way. I have to admit, that many times while reading, my mind wandered off to imagine how would it be to follow such interesting research path. Also, I felt entertained by the description of the unique kinds of games and left me excited to see what the future holds!Me, as a recently graduated master student that is actively looking for PhD project about these topics, I now have a better way to describe my research interests to potential supervisors. But without any doubt, I would recommend this book for young students ready to embark on technology-related studies.Although this book is not about all the details, at the end the author shares a handful amount of references and resources for you to explore.
